Sunday Scroll #49
Super easy BTS dinner, what upset teens *really* need, Sephora skincare must-haves, and "The Devil Wears Prada" sequel!
Hi, friends!
It’s Back to School week here in Pensacola, and I’m officially the mom of an 8th grader and two 4th graders (don’t ask me how this is possible!). If you’re entering BTS season yourself, may the school supply lists be short and the car lines be efficient.
I’ve rounded up a few BTS links that might make your week a bit more joyful and easy (along with regularly scheduled content, because “parent” is only one hat we wear).
💡 PS: this season, if you’d like some help organizing life and work and everything in between, I bet you’d love an Academic Simplified Planner—which are marked down just in time for the school year!
All right, let’s get into the scroll!
A Back to School PSA for parents. The best advice for kids and parents to survive BTS week. I read this every single year!
Ridiculously good Air Fryer Chicken Breasts. I’ve been making these on repeat. So quick, so easy, and everybody loves them. Great with a dipping sauce (hello, honey mustard and Chick-fil-A sauce) or on a salad!
Speaking of air fryers: here’s how air fryers sparked a frozen food revolution. This is fascinating. Because so many things are just as good—or better—in an air fryer. Veggies. Fish. These chicken tenders. And French fries, of course!
This is fun: here are outlets you can shop online! Dropping this list here in case it’s helpful for clothes shopping (or anything shopping, really!).
What teens are looking for when they’re upset. This tracks from my own teen years, and I’ve seen it with my teen too. ❤️
90s parents getting ready for Back to School vs 2020s parents. This is a little too real. 😂🙃😂🙃
What the Olympic athletes are eating in Paris right now. That’s a lot of bananas.
33 (more!) brilliant life hacks. Trying to work #6 and #24 into my life more (because you’d be shocked by how much you can save when you knock out some of the little stuff). Also #15 is something I’ve started doing and makes a huge difference!
Here’s what cosmetic chemists would buy in Sephora. My fellow skincare enthusiasts, have you used any of these?? (PS: that Murad cleanser is great!)
Everything we know about The Devil Wears Prada sequel. This is important!! Crossing my fingers that production won’t move at a glacial pace.
5 Questions With Phil Rosenthal on connection, family, and intentionally avoiding being “cool.” Oh, my heart. I want to be more like him when I grow up!
When you have a minor commitment later in the day. This is me. 💯😂
And now for the MEMES—Olympics edition!
Sending you guys lots of love and iced coffee this week. You’ve got this!
Psst, and don’t forget to shop the Academic Simplified Planner sale, which includes our brand-new digital edition (!). 🎉
xo,
Emily
Such a great read as usual, Emily! I especially loved the 33 life hacks. One of the hacks is to take pictures of people, not things. It was a link to another full article specifically about that, and it was SO GOOD! If you’re reading this comment and didn’t click on that link, go back. I highly recommend!
Good luck with the back to school season!!
