Vibrant, gorgeous, and 68: an interview with my mom
a look back at two years of consistency and a commitment to living her very best life
It’s no secret: she’s my hero. My mom is a retired elementary school teacher, mom to two (me and my younger brother, Brett), a grandmother to five, and has been married to my dad for 46 years. She was the quintessential working mom: devoted to her family, involved in everything, and endlessly dedicated to her career. It was her ability to be a career woman AND a mother — at the same time — that inspired me to pursue my passion in a similar way.
A little over two years ago, on September 22, 2021, she decided she was ready for a change. She was tired of being tired, wanted to feel confident in her clothes again, and wanted to have energy to do all the fun “nana” things with her grandkids.
I feel exactly the same way. It’s something we all feel at one point or another, right? The difference is, some of us get stuck and some of us pursue our health and wellbeing wholeheartedly… committing to growth and change even if it’s slow and imperfect.
My mom was the later. Here’s how she did it.
