Sunday Scroll #150
The rise of "quiet influencers," a mom-approved bikini, and the case for trade school
It’s Blue Angels weekend here in Pensacola! One of my favorite weekends of the year. I am, unabashedly, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels’ number one fan. Bryan even convinced me to build our house where we are by driving me here when they were flying over head. This weekend, however, they’re flying over Pensacola Beach. We’re hosting friends tomorrow to watch from afar (the beach traffic is NEXT level crazy this weekend) and also counting the days until we get to pick Caroline up from camp (this week, hooray!). Hope you all enjoy this week’s Sunday Scroll!
How TIBAL charted the path for “quiet influencers” — lo-fi but high converting, trusted internet friends whose influence is based on trust, community and transparency. Truly, she’s such a breath of fresh air in an ecosystem that feels like it’s all fancy press trips and expensive gifting (and I say this as someone who has benefited from some of those things!) If you don’t already follow, I highly recommend.
Should I stay or should I go: one mom weighs the age old dilemma many NYC families face, stay in the city or move to the burbs?
Motherhood asks so much of our bodies, our hearts, and our patience. But it also asks a ton of our brains. The deadlines, the appointments, the school functions, the diapers, the extra set of clothes. This is a great read on how (and why) motherhood can oftentimes unmask ADHD + what we get wrong about ADHD in adults. Candidly, this post hit pretty close to home and I hope to share more of my own journey with a later in life ADHD diagnosis.
I’m convinced this Left on Friday swimsuit is the best mom-approved bikini. I own it in FOUR colors (most recently this cobalt blue that I’m calling Blue Angels Blue ✈️) and love that you can mix and match the top and bottom styles. They even have a full short bottom if you’re after more coverage.
Gap Years Are Wasted on the Young — the case for taking a sabbatical at any age, and why extended time away from work is more personally and professionally transformative than you think!
My fun guide on what to read based on what you’re craving (see everything I’ve read so far this year, here!)
More and more young adults are trading in college for vocational school, with enrollment in two-year trade schools growing by 20% from 2020 to 2025. Rising college tuition prices coupled with a less than ideal early career job market have a lot of young people questioning the value of a college degree — plus careers in skilled trades like plumbing and construction are virtually AI-proof. The reality is a traditional college degree is no longer the golden ticket to lucrative career it once was. Bryan and I talk about this often. We both took the traditional college route (and I'm grateful for it!), but we want our kids to know there's more than one path to a meaningful, stable life. The goal was never a diploma on the wall; it's work they're proud of, a life they can afford, and the wisdom to know the difference.

A few summer wardrobe staples I’ve been reaching for constantly: these jelly sandals (I’m obsessed) these $50 sunnies, this white tee, these jeans, this smocked dress, and this rainbow necklace.
We’re officially past the halfway point of 2026 (how?!), which makes it the perfect time for a mid-year financial check-in. This list of 10 to-dos is so doable — like checking your savings rate, culling forgotten subscriptions, and finally tackling that one money task you’ve been putting off. You know I love a good “do it once and stop thinking about it” list.
I shared this on stories, but this $30 Amazon dress is my new favorite thing to throw on while my spray tan bakes.
This is such a cool series on how women structure their days. See how a Hospital Chief of Staff, a Big Law Senior Associate, and an Elementary School Teacher spend their days.
If you, like me, are dealing with all the fun that comes with perimenopause or menopause (yay), I can’t recommend Midi Health more. Last October, I started seeing a Midi Clinician to begin HRT (after a total hysterectomy) and they’ve been so easy to work with AND helpful. Join here. (Thanks to Midi Health for sponsoring this week’s Sunday Scroll!)
If you're a SAHM who fills everyone else's carts without blinking and then agonizes over one little thing for yourself: please read this. Raising humans is real, valuable work — paycheck or not.

Coming next week:
Next week, we’re talking back to school — because it’s coming, friends, whether we’re ready or not 😅! I’m sharing my complete game plan for getting three kids (and one mama) ready for the new school year with minimal meltdowns and zero midnight store runs.

Really enjoyed this post! My ADHD was unmasked so aggressively after I had my kids. Cannot wait to read tha tpost... Also a huge fan of Marina-- so glad to see her post here!!
Thanks for linking to my post on how motherhood unmasks ADHD! Sometimes it’s hard to find the right words to describe what’s going on, and having the right language helps a mom realize she isn’t alone, and know there is support that can help.
