The Gilmore Girls reunion no one is talking about?? Plus small joys, safe spaces, good podcasts, and iced pumpkin cookies.

Happy Sunday, you guys! How are you this morning? I’m hanging in there. Thank you so much for all your kind words, prayers, and well wishes. I feel so loved and cared for (and thankful for my great care team here in Pensacola!).

I’ve been spending lots of time on my phone this week (big surprise). I started an Instagram account to share certified good dog content, because Brady and I are obsessed with sharing dog memes! I also came across this “little things that bring joy” rubric from Morgan Harper Nichols that brought a big smile to my face:

• A color: Kelly green

• A type of food: great, big warm chocolate chip cookies

• A time of day: when everyone is home in the evening

• A word: ragamuffin!

• A day of the week: Saturdays in the fall

• A time of year: mid-October when the cool temps arrive

• Something in nature: the first orange leaves

• Something you wear: the perfect old oversized graphic tee

• Something in your home: preschool class photos in frames

1. One of the most insightful things I read this week: a licensed therapist explains why not every post, comment, or video is meant for you personally, and that’s okay. Instead, she says, learning to say “This isn’t for me” without reacting defensively is growth. I couldn’t agree more (feels like a natural progression of my own feelings of being a person on the internet).

2. Why am I so mad at my spouse right now? Move over, emotional labor—let’s talk about the cognitive load. I’m so curious to hear what you think about this one…

3. The safe space of Good Hang with Amy Poehler. Have you listened? I can’t help but be a little happier when you listen, or even see clips of it on social (just read the comments). Amy is truly the best. If you need a good laugh, start with the episodes where Amy talks to comics Leanne Morgan and Zarna Garg!

4. These iced pumpkin cookies look like the greatest fall dessert. Warm and cinnamon-y. I bet they’d go great with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
