Good morning, and happy Sunday. How are you this morning? I’m leaning into fall and making these pumpkin muffins from The Simplified Cookbook. I plan on cozying up with Walter on the couch and reading a book, and I might see who’s up for a movie night tonight. I love a cozy fall weekend in, don’t you?

Ready for a scroll? Me, too!

  1. Are you feeling the urge to read more? I am, for a variety of reasons. Mostly so I put down my phone and get away from screens for a while (I’m an audiobook kind of girl). This is how to read more—15 ways, actually. And it’s now what you think.

  2. What makes a recipe go viral? FASCINATED by this conversation.

  3. I’m obsessed with these 10 habits that upgrade your health in middle age, especially because the writer considers chocolate chip cookies of utmost importance. I can get behind that. (PS: #10 seems to be the new trend in fitness, have you tried it?)

  4. Do you ever ask yourself, What am I actually good at? In the times I ask myself that question, I’m usually frustrated (especially at my day-jobs before Simplified). Feeling like you haven’t found your *thing* gets old real fast. Here’s a quick assessment to figure out what you’re good at, and use that to find work you love doing. This isn’t a magic bullet for finding the perfect job (that doesn’t exist!). But I think understanding yourself will help you align your traits with work that fills you with more purpose. In this economy, that may feel lofty. But having something to reach for? That helps on our hard days.
