I nervously hit publish on Part I of this series last week and was shocked at the incredible response. To date, it’s the most engaging post I’ve had on Substack. Nearly 100 of you commented that you too have (or had) been re-evaluating how alcohol feels in your body. You were grateful for a place to talk about it because it seems like NO ONE talks about it. Same can be said for a lot of changes we consider in our lives.
Let me first begin part two of this conversation by saying that this is a judgment-free zone. I have a husband who collects bourbon and have definitely enjoyed my fair share of a bottle of rose on my back porch at times. But what do we do when it suddenly starts making us feel bad and we aren’t sure if we want to partake as often, if at all?
This begs a bigger question. Are we, as full grown, smart, capable, discerning women allowed to say NO to the status quo? To do the against-the-grain thing? And beyond that, are we allowed to feel one way during one season and change our minds in the next?
Yes. Yes, friends. We are.
